How Can I Join the Bares?

Please contact us by mail, phone message, or e-mail. After you contact us, we will send you information on the club (if you can't find what you need on our website), as well as our Bare Essentials Information Form, for you to tell us more about yourself and your interests. Once you have sent back your information form, we will assign a sponsor to contact you, answer any questions you have about the club, and invite you to attend your first event (see our schedule of upcoming activities). (Most of our events are clothing-optional, and some are clothing-required, so you will have a chance to get to know us better, and become comfortable with nudism, before "taking the plunge.") Your sponsor will introduce you to other members of the club and help you through the membership process. We ask you to attend at least four events before applying for membership in the Bares, which will give you a chance to meet our members, and help them decide whether to support your application for membership (part of the application process is obtaining signatures from current members after they've had a chance to meet you). At our general membership meetings, usually held in January, May and September, we vote on applications for new members, which are decided by majority vote.

To speed up the process, as part of your initial inquiry, you can download our Bare Essentials Information Form in Microsoft Word format (either click on the link to open the form, or if that doesn't work try right-clicking the link, save the file to your PC, then open the file in MS Word), and fill it in on your computer; then both sign and mail it in to our P.O. box above, and e-mail a copy to the Bares of the filled-in form (signature(s) not needed) so our membership committee can get a head start on reviewing your form. Or you can download, print, fill out, and mail in to our P.O. box above a different version of the same form in Adobe Acrobat format (printer-friendly .pdf format, requires Acrobat Reader).

The form asks you to agree to our Activities Guidelines for conduct at any Bares events to which you may be invited as a prospective member.

Membership in the Bares is by invitation only. Our membership committee screens all prospective members.

Single men and women, and couples, along with their children are eligible to join the Bares. However, married persons must join the Bares together as a couple.
